Flint, Mi —
The Flint Firebirds continued their historic season Saturday night March 14, defeating the Saginaw Spirit 5–1 to set a new franchise record for wins in a single season.
The victory gives the Firebirds 43 wins, breaking the previous franchise record of 42 wins set during the 2021–22 season. The team had already set a new point record with 91 earlier this week and has now topped that with 93.
With three games still remaining in the regular season, the Firebirds now have the chance to push the record even higher as they fly toward the playoffs.
The Firebirds are set to play next on the road, Tuesday, March 17, against the Kitchener Rangers at the Kitchener Memorial Auditorium.
