Flint, Mi - On February 28th, many Americans plan to take part in a nationwide economic blackout, a movement organized by The People’s Union USA to send a clear message to the current administration: We are taking back control of our economy, government, and country.

For one day, participants are urged to stop all spending—no shopping, dining out, or financial transactions. If you need something, you could borrow from a friend or buy from a locally owned store.
Why is February 28 the date of the first economic blackout?
February 28 is a symbolic start to economic resistance, a day where we show corporations and politicians that we control the economy. The date itself is not tied to any historical event, it is the beginning of something bigger. The first domino that will set off a chain of actions until the people get what they deserve. If they don't listen (they won't) we make the next blackout longer (We will) - The People's Union USA
The rules are simple: Don’t spend. Don’t engage in the economy. Make them notice. Businesses that support the cause are encouraged to close for the day or limit operations in solidarity. This is a friendly reminder.
Will you be participating? All you have to do is do nothing, and maybe be a little loud about it.
