Hi all,

When I started the Flint City Times, I set out to provide, "Earnest and honest independent news focusing on highlighting the best of Flint". While I am extremely proud of what Flint City Times has accomplished so far, I quickly fell into the trap of the social media engagement grind.

Over the coming months and years, we plan to continue to seek out truth, to share the culture of Flint, and to engage IN the community. However, we are going to focus our energy on our own platform. Going forward we will be eliminating all official social media accounts outside of our YouTube channel. We will continue to use YouTube to host our video content. We plan to focus on creating quality content here rather than chasing the next platform.

We are excited to grow our site membership and to hold community conversations in our forums here. We are excited to offer a book club to be able to learn as a community here. We will experience slower growth, but it will be sustainable. It will be because it will be worth pulling up the browser for. It will be because the quality of our content. It will be because the community will feel and see our involvement.

We will fact check, we will not have ai bot accounts, and there will be no algorithms here. Please consider signing up to be a member of the website and dropping a line in the forums.
